The Makerspace is located in 41 Cooper Sq in Room 707 (7th floor).
What is the Makerspace?
A lab for all of your prototyping needs! How can I send a 3D Print? You can send a print using our
3D Printing Request Form. Sizing parameters, units, and more info about printing can be found on the form. How do I know when my print is ready?
Don’t worry! You will receive a Teams notification from an Operator telling you that your print is ready and will be waiting for you on the shelf directly outside of the Makerspace.
Are Makerspace materials and services free?
The materials and services in Makerspace are free of charge if the scope of their use falls under a students’ learning goals (ie. class projects).
If your class has a budget, we recommend experimenting with materials at the Makerspace before ordering your items!
If you are working on a personal project and it is contributing to your learning process, the materials/services are also free to use, but class projects take priority (ie. we will not be printing a gift for your friend, you can go to AACE for that). Note: some materials in Makerspace are owned by our STEM Program — please ask an operator before use of materials labeled for STEM only!
How do I return materials?
While we understand not all materials can be returned after usage, please try your best to return reusable items (ie. pliers, hot glue guns, breadboards, etc). Come in to return materials or if the space is closed, you can return materials in the box outside of the Makerspace labeled Returns/Donations.
If you have excess materials from a class project that are in good condition to continue to be used, your donation is welcomed in the Makerspace! If you are unsure on whether something can be donated or should be returned, come in to ask.
Can I get help at the Makerspace?
Yes! Operators are free to help during their shifts, and there is always someone in the Makerspace during open hours. You can also look at what skills each operator has on their profile if you need help with anything specific. Don’t hesitate to reach out.
