Workshops

2025-2026: Leather Keychain Workshop

Students were introduced to the laser cutter’s functions as they drew a keychain or created one in a CAD software to laser cut.

2024-2025:
Light-Up Legos Workshop
Students learned about how a light/switch circuit works and about how to CAD a piece that fits to a real object using OnShape. Then students connected everything they learned to make their own light up Lego models!

Rotating Lamp Workshop

Students gained a basic understanding of the types of motors and how to select the right motor for future projects and about the function of motor attachments and were introduced to laser cutting to create their own light up lamps.
Mr. Peltier Workshop
Students learned about some very basic heat transfer properties, the function of a cool thermoelectric module and some knowledge about designing with constraints!

2023-2024:
Power Tools Workshop
Students were first introduced to the innerworkings of windchimes and sound engineering. Then they learned how to use power tools and different materials to create their own windchimes!

Clock Assembly Workshop

This workshop aims to teach students the process of gluing different materials together using different adhesives, and with that they will be able to put together a clock base. With that clock base, and with an understanding of clock assembly, students will be able to put together a clock with a working mechanism.
Arduino Music Workshop
Students learned about how to use a breadboard and about buttons, resistors, and buzzers. With these components, students were able to create their own Arduino speaker.

2022-2023:
Toys & Tolerances Workshop
Students designed their own fidget cubes to 3D print and understand how different tolerances create different fits.

PCB Soldering Workshop

Students learned how to use the solder to make their very own PCB blinking badge!
Inkscape & Stamp Workshop

Students learned how to use the laser cutter to make stamps!
Nightlight Workshop

Students learned how to use the laser cutter and a bit about color theory to make their own laser cut night lights!
