3D Printing

3D Printing Request Form

The Makerspace has Prusa MK4S and Prusa CoreOne+ printers available for students to use for any projects with an educational purpose. We offer three different printing materials: PLA, PETG, and TPU. To send a 3D print or learn more details, check out the form above.

Laser Cutting

The Makerspace offers laser cutting on the Epilog Fusion Maker. It can be used to score, cut, or engrave different materials including leather, acrylic, wood, cardboard, fabric, cork, aluminum, glass, and more. Please come with a .DXF file of the job and note down the unit of measurement the .DXF file was exported in. If unsure how to create a .DXF file, ask an operator for assistance.

CNC Machining

The Makerspace has a Carvera Air Desktop CNC machine that uses rotary tools to carve or engrave materials such as wood, plastic, and aluminum. Students must come with a .DXF, .STL, or G-code file, or ask an operator to help them set it up!

Build + Solder Stations

The build station is equipped with power and cutting tools, drills and various drill bits, screws, clamps etc.
The solder station includes solder kits, electrical wire, and electronic components like resistors, switches.
Students are free to use the build and solder stations while following safety protocols. For more information about tools including drills, dremels, and saws, check out the inventory section.

Sewing and Embroidering

The Makerspace has both a Brother SE700 Sewing and Embroidering Machine and a Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machine. For more information on usage, check out our resource guide!

Vinyl Cutter

The Silhouette Cameo Pro MK-II can cut various materials including vinyl, cardstock, and fabric. Some common usages can be for custom stickers, labels, stencils, and signs.

Light Box

Using the light box, students can take professional photos of their creations to add to their portfolio or for documentation. There are multiple backdrop colors available. Ask an Operator to help set it up for you!

Oculus Sets

The Oculus sets are virtual reality headsets used for 3D modeling, design review, spatial learning, and simulations.

Pneumatic Air Compressor

This machine can provide compressed air for various tool attachments including airbrushes, nail guns, and inflation devices.

Trace Frames

Students can trace their sketches using the Trace Frames and generate a vector file to be laser cut. The Trace Frames are the size of a standard piece of printer paper (8.5” x 11”), but drawings done can be scaled up or down on the computer prior to laser cutting. Currently, the Trace Frames can only be used under one account. Ask an operator if interested in using it!

3D Pens

Using 3D Pens, students can explore what resembles handheld 3D printing. With the ability to ‘draw’ both on a flat surface or in the air, it can be used to create 2D designs, 3D figures, or to reinforce and fix existing objects.
